2020! Best year ever!
How many are making that statement? Yeah, I know. Conventional wisdom would have you believe that 2020 might have been the worst year ever.
In most cases, conventional wisdom is just wrong. And for 2020, I believe conventional wisdom is absolutely wrong.
Has 2020 presented new and sometimes unusual challenges? For sure.
2020 has been an amazing year! Maybe the best year. (Yes, I 100% believe this.)
Of course it’s a matter of perspective.
For me, 2020 has provided me the opportunity to become closer with my family. Spending more quality time with my kids. More quality time with my fiancee and her kids.
We’ve cooked family meals way more often than in years prior. And yes, we are still supporting local restaurants (and breweries) with carryout.
We’ve actually traveled more. Visiting several new places, along with some familiar places too.
On the business front, I have been more efficient and effective. Less time commuting, more time being productive. Our business also has nearly doubled the number of employees in 2020 from 2019. And we’ve changed our hiring profile to allow virtual, remote employees who are geographically located outside of central Indiana.
Am I looking forward to 2021? You bet! I’m excited to build upon all of the positive excitement from 2020.
Happy New Year!
